Product information " Greywater recycling plant GWI 1.3-1.000 (capacity 1000 l/day)"
This system can treat up to 1,000 liters of graywater per day.
The GWI 1.3 – 1,000 graywater recycling system is a compact indoor solution from the GWI series designed to treat graywater from showers, bathtubs, and sinks. It is particularly suitable for single-family homes with moderate water usage, larger residential units, and commercial applications with moderate graywater generation .
Through the combination of biological treatment and modern ultrafiltration (membrane filters), graywater is reliably purified and made usable as process water. It is specifically used where drinking water quality is not required—e.g., for toilet flushing, cleaning purposes, or garden irrigation. When operated properly, the treated water meets the quality standards of the EU Bathing Water Directive for service water applications.
The system enables efficient savings of drinking water and supports sustainable water management in medium-sized residential and commercial units.
Our graywater systems are configured on a project-specific basis and adapted to the respective structural and technical requirements. The configuration listed here therefore represents an example of a typical design. Variations in the type, number, and design of the components are possible depending on the project.
The delivery time for the system is approximately 4–6 weeks.
Functionality & Technology
The overall purification process consists of biological treatment followed by ultrafiltration. The treated water is then stored in the service or clear water tank.
The BioMembrane filter technology used ensures reliable separation of the biomass from the graywater through its barrier effect and guarantees a high hygienic quality of the service water.
The system consists of several coordinated components:
- Filtration tank with membrane filter for treating the graywater
- Service water tank for storing the treated process water
- Control cabinet with integrated control system and aeration pump
Greywater treatment is fully automated via an integrated control system. If service water is insufficient, standard-compliant drinking water is added to ensure a reliable supply at all times. After power outages, the system automatically resumes operation.
Applications
The GWI 1.3 – 1,000 graywater treatment system is designed for:
- Single-family homes with moderate water usage
- Small to medium-sized apartment buildings or larger residential units
- Office and commercial units with moderate water usage
- Guesthouses, vacation rentals, or outbuildings
It is ideal for any location where moderate volumes of graywater need to be treated efficiently and in a space-saving manner.
Installation
- Indoor system, for installation in utility or laundry rooms.
- Installation, commissioning, and maintenance must be performed exclusively by qualified personnel.
- Separate piping required for greywater and process water.
- Pipes must be clearly marked in accordance with applicable standards.
- The treated water must not be connected to the drinking water supply.
The system must be installed and operated in accordance with applicable technical regulations (including DIN standards and the Drinking Water Ordinance). Service water systems must generally be reported to the relevant public health department.
Maintenance & Operation
- Annual maintenance by qualified personnel is required.
- Regular visual and functional inspections by the operator are recommended.
- Maintenance and inspections must be documented in the operating log.
Proper operation ensures a long service life, high operational reliability, and consistently high water quality.
By adhering to the manufacturer’s specifications and handling the system responsibly, the unit also requires minimal maintenance.
