Greywater recycling plant GWI 2.3-2.000 (capacity 2000 l/day)

Product information " Greywater recycling plant GWI 2.3-2.000 (capacity 2000 l/day)"

This system can treat up to 2,000 liters of graywater per day.

The GWI 2.3 – 2,000 graywater recycling system is a compact, fully automatic solution for treating water from showers, bathtubs, and sinks. It is particularly suitable for smaller apartment buildings, larger single-family homes, and commercial applications with moderate graywater generation, such as guesthouses, small hotels, office spaces, or sports and recreational facilities.

Through the combination of biological treatment and modern ultrafiltration (membrane filters), graywater is reliably purified, made usable as process water, and specifically applied where drinking water quality is not required—e.g., for irrigation, cleaning purposes, or toilet flushing. When operated properly, the treated water meets the quality standards of the EU Bathing Water Directive for service water applications.

The system actively contributes to saving drinking water and supports sustainable water management in residential and commercial buildings.

Our graywater systems are configured on a project-specific basis and adapted to the respective structural and technical requirements. The configuration listed here therefore represents an example of a typical design. Variations in the type, number, and design of the components are possible depending on the project.

The delivery time for the system is approximately 4–6 weeks.

Functionality & Technology

The overall purification process consists of biological treatment followed by ultrafiltration. The treated water is then stored in the service or clear water tank.

The BioMembrane filter technology used ensures reliable separation of the biomass from the graywater through its barrier effect and guarantees a very high hygienic quality of the clear water.

The system consists of several coordinated components:

  • Sedimentation tank for pre-treatment
  • Aeration tank for biological treatment
  • Filtration unit with an ultrafiltration membrane that retains the finest particles, germs, and bacteria
  • Service water tank for storing the treated water

The entire graywater treatment process is fully automated via an integrated control system. If there is insufficient process water available, standard-compliant drinking water is added to ensure a reliable supply at all times. After power outages, the system automatically resumes operation.

Applications

The GWI 2.3 – 2,000 graywater treatment system is designed for:

  • larger single-family homes
  • smaller apartment buildings
  • smaller residential complexes
  • hotels, guesthouses, and vacation resorts
  • Office and administrative buildings
  • Sports and recreational facilities

It enables a significant reduction in drinking water consumption and actively contributes to sustainable water management and lower operating costs.

Installation

  • Indoor system, intended for installation in utility rooms.
  • Installation, commissioning, and maintenance must be performed exclusively by qualified personnel.
  • Separate piping required for greywater and process water.
  • Pipes must be clearly marked in accordance with applicable standards.
  • The treated water must not be connected to the drinking water supply.

The system must be installed and operated in accordance with applicable technical regulations (including DIN standards and the Drinking Water Ordinance). Service water systems must generally be reported to the responsible public health department.

Maintenance & Operation

  • Annual maintenance by qualified personnel is required.
  • Regular visual and functional inspections by the operator are recommended.
  • Maintenance and inspections must be documented in the operating log.

Proper operation ensures a long service life, high operational reliability, and consistently high water quality. By adhering to the manufacturer’s specifications and handling the system responsibly, the system also impresses with exceptionally low maintenance requirements.

Advantages at a Glance

  • High-performance, sustainable solution for water reuse.
  • Durable components enable reliable treatment of hygienically high-quality service water for many years when operated properly.
  • Modern ultrafiltration for high water quality.
  • Fully automatic, reliable operation.
  • Reduces drinking water consumption and costs.
  • Suitable for residential and commercial applications.
  • Supply reliability through automatic replenishment.

Additional features & notes

  • The system is designed for the treatment of domestic graywater (e.g., shower, bathtub, hand basin).
  • Kitchen wastewater, sewage, or heavily contaminated wastewater must not be introduced (see instructions).
  • The treated water is to be used exclusively as service water (not drinking water).
  • During prolonged absences, the system should remain switched on to maintain biological function.
  • Proper planning of the greywater lines is a prerequisite for trouble-free operation.
  • Modifications to the system or control system may only be performed by authorized qualified personnel.

The motor is continuously cooled by the medium being transported, which significantly reduces the motor’s operating temperature. This pump model features an integrated thermal protection switch: The wastewater pump stops as soon as an overload occurs—the motor automatically restarts after the pump has cooled down. The TPV 200V has a maximum flow rate of 140 liters per minute, a maximum head of 7 meters, and builds up a pressure of up to 0.7 bar. The power consumption (P1) is 0.31 kW.  Quality: The TPV-200 series is made of high-quality plastic. The bearings and mechanical seal are designed for a long service life and guarantee continuous operation. Very easy cleaning and maintenance of the pump thanks to simple disassembly. The pump has a low weight of 5.3 kg. With an IP 68 protection rating, the wastewater pump is dust- and watertight. Conclusion: The reliable and durable TPV 200V transfer pump is suitable for transporting contaminated water and wastewater containing solids with a particle size of up to 19 millimeters. Additional features & notes: Larger particles—with a particle size exceeding 19 millimeters—will clog the suction strainer: Failure to observe this will reduce the pump’s service life or cause it to malfunction. The pump must not be used for seawater, flammable, corrosive, explosive, or hazardous liquids. The maximum temperature of the medium being pumped must not exceed 40°C.   Maintenance and Installation Instructions: The pump is maintenance-free and must be installed in a frost-proof location. When used in above-ground tanks, it must be drained in winter and stored in a frost-proof location. Please follow the installation and operating instructions.
