Product information " Greywater recycling plant GWI 8.2-8.000 (capacity 8000 l/day)"
This system can treat up to 8,000 liters of graywater per day.
The GWI 8.2 – 8,000 graywater recycling system is a high-performance, fully automatic solution for treating graywater from showers, bathtubs, and handwashing sinks. It is suitable for large residential complexes, commercial and semi-industrial applications, as well as public buildings with high graywater volumes.
Through a combination of biological treatment and modern ultrafiltration (membrane filters), graywater is reliably purified, made usable as process water, and specifically applied where drinking water quality is not required—e.g., for irrigation, cleaning purposes, or toilet flushing. When operated properly, the treated water meets the quality standards of the EU Bathing Water Directive for service water applications.
The system actively contributes to saving drinking water and supports sustainable water management in large residential complexes, commercial, and public buildings.
Our greywater systems are configured on a project-specific basis and adapted to the respective structural and technical requirements. The configuration listed here therefore represents an example of a typical design. Variations in the type, number, and design of the components are possible depending on the project.
The delivery time for the system is approximately 4–6 weeks .
Functionality & Technology
The overall purification process consists of biological treatment and ultrafiltration. The treated water is then stored in the service or clear water tank.
The BioMembrane filter technology used ensures the separation of biomass from the graywater through its barrier effect and guarantees a very high hygienic quality of the clear water.
The system consists of several coordinated components:
- Sedimentation tank for pre-treatment
- Aeration tank for biological treatment
- Filtration unit with an ultrafiltration membrane that retains the finest particles, germs, and bacteria
- Service water tank for storing the treated water
The entire graywater treatment process is fully automated via an integrated control system. If there is insufficient process water available, standard-compliant drinking water is added to ensure a reliable supply at all times. After power outages, the system automatically resumes operation.
Applications
The GWI 8.2 – 8,000 graywater treatment system is designed for:
- large residential complexes and neighborhood solutions
- large hotels and hotel complexes
- administrative and school buildings
- commercial and semi-industrial applications
- sports and recreation centers
It enables a significant reduction in drinking water consumption and actively contributes to sustainable water management and lower operating costs.
Installation
- Indoor system, intended for installation in utility rooms.
- Installation, commissioning, and maintenance must be performed exclusively by qualified personnel.
- Separate piping for greywater and process water is required.
- Pipes must be clearly marked in accordance with applicable standards.
- The treated water must not be connected to the drinking water supply.
The system must be installed and operated in accordance with applicable technical regulations (including DIN standards and the Drinking Water Ordinance). Service water systems must generally be reported to the responsible public health department.
Maintenance & Operation
- Annual maintenance by qualified personnel is required.
- Regular visual and functional inspections by the operator are recommended.
- Maintenance and inspections must be documented in the operating log.
Proper operation ensures a long service life, high operational reliability, and consistently high water quality. By adhering to the manufacturer’s specifications and handling the system responsibly, the system also impresses with exceptionally low maintenance requirements.
