Do you have questions about the ideal tank size for your roof area and your individual consumption?
Feel free to use our rainwater calculator.

Main components of the rainwater treatment system

2 underground tanks/cisterns, each with a capacity of 4,700 liters

The rainwater tanks are made of high-quality, environmentally friendly polyethylene containing recycled material and are 100% recyclable. The material is chemically inert—meaning it has no effect on the quality of the stored water. Compared to concrete or metal tanks, these cisterns are significantly lighter and easier to handle. The GreenLife underground tanks are 100% watertight. They are delivered ready for connection and pre-assembled: three connections each for inlet, overflow, and supply line/empty pipe connection (rubber lip seal DN 110), e.g., KG pipe. Each cistern includes a continuously height-adjustable expansion dome and a walkable safety plastic cover. The slip-resistant pattern on the safety cover depicts the “Flower of Life,” a popular decorative motif understood in many cultures as a symbol of cosmic order.
We provide a 15-year warranty on the underground tank in accordance with our warranty terms and conditions

Fully Biological Water Filter Biovitor

The low-maintenance rainwater filter we developed purifies your water without chemicals and achieves a high yield of top-quality rainwater. Unlike conventional filters, the Biovitor uses the same natural processes for biological self-purification as our local waterways. The Biovitor contains no wear parts, so you can rely on maintenance intervals of up to ten years.

UV Drinking Water Treatment System

The GreenLife water treatment system, with its compact design and low energy consumption, impresses with its high disinfection performance; treatment is carried out without chemicals. After purification using two sediment filters and one activated carbon filter, any remaining bacteria, germs, or viruses are rendered harmless through UV disinfection. The UV lamp requires little maintenance; it should be replaced after 10,000 operating hours (disinfection performance decreases). The system has a long service life.

GUP 46 Clear Water Pressure Pump

The high-quality, durable, and powerful GUP 46 submersible pressure pump delivers clear water to the desired locations in the house. As a multistage submersible pressure pump, it is primarily used in building services. A float switch acts as dry-run protection. All water-contacting parts of the pump are made of stainless steel.

How the GreenLife Rainwater Treatment System with Underground Tank and Drinking Water Treatment Works

Rainwater is directed from the available roof surfaces to the cistern (rainwater tank). Whenever possible, only roof runoff water should be used, as—unlike with courtyard and driveway surfaces—relatively low levels of contamination are expected. If leaves are anticipated, a gutter screen or similar leaf separator technology must be used.
Once the rainwater reaches the cistern, the fully biological Biovitor rainwater filter ensures effective pre-filtration. As soon as a faucet is turned on at a connected outlet in the house, the vacuum water pump in the cistern starts up: The pre-filtered rainwater is then pumped to the drinking water treatment system. The rainwater to be treated first passes through two sediment filters (20 μm and 10 μm), then an activated carbon filter, and finally undergoes highly effective UV disinfection. The water is now safe to drink. For your own safety, water quality samples should be tested at regular intervals.

The maximum treatment capacity of the drinking water treatment system is 2,000 liters per hour.

Important Information and Technical Notes

Underground tank system with Biovitor

Drinking Water Treatment UV 2000

  • All components are pre-assembled on a mounting plate.
  • The cartridges, including the filter cartridges of the 3-stage filter, are pre-installed.
  • An automatic switch with a check valve controls the pump as needed.
  • Install the UV 2000 inside the building/utility room—not outdoors if there is a risk of frost.
  • The UV lamp used for UV disinfection has a service life of approximately 10,000 hours. The lamp can be turned off when you are away.
  • The system requires 230 V / 50 Hz.
Please also check with your local authority (e.g., the public health department responsible for your area) to see if there are any additional local regulations regarding the operation of such a system.
In addition, for your own safety, quality samples of the filtered water should be taken and tested at regular intervals.

Installation Instructions

Underground Tank & Biovitor

Please follow the installation instructions for our tanks (see also "Downloads"):
Read the instructions thoroughly and in their entirety before installing, connecting, and commissioning this product. Pay close attention to all safety instructions. Failure to comply will void all warranty and guarantee claims.

Pump, UV Drinking Water Treatment

The entire system must be checked regularly for leaks, cleanliness, and stability.

Underground Tank System
Maintenance of the underground tank system should be performed at intervals of approximately 10 years.

UV 2000 Drinking Water Treatment System

The special UV lamps should be replaced after 10,000 operating hours; otherwise, the disinfection rate will decrease.
The filter cartridges for the sediment filter and the activated carbon filter should be replaced as needed, but at least every 4 months. You can order the replacement filter set for up to one year of water treatment from our shop.
In addition, for your own safety, quality samples of the filtered water should be taken and tested at regular intervals.

Gutter grille
Länge: 3m (5 Stück a 0,6m)

GreenLife's gutter guard is the perfect filter for rainwater. Whether the water is collected in cisterns or rain barrels, plant debris such as leaves and twigs can reduce water quality. It is therefore always recommended to pre-filter rainwater as thoroughly as possible, starting right at the gutter. Leaf guards filter rainwater Especially in the fall, when trees shed their leaves, it can be very frustrating when heavy rain causes leaves to enter the downspout and thus the rainwater tank. Not only does the quality of the collected water suffer from the debris, but it can also quickly clog the downspout. Cleaning often involves a lot of effort. Therefore, always use a leaf guard. Potential problems without a leaf guard Clogged downspouts Blockages in water hoses or showerheads Discoloration of the water Reduced water quality Staining of the gutter Breeding ground for pests With this simple leaf guard from GreenLife, such problems are a thing of the past. Assembly is incredibly easy, and cleaning usually requires nothing more than a hand brush. The gutter guard also provides reliable protection against birds. They can no longer nest in the gutter and must find other places to settle. Can I filter the rainwater even further? Yes, because the gutter guard is only a pre-filter. Depending on the type of your rainwater harvesting system, you can also use downspout filters, built-in filters, or tank-mounted filters. In addition to these mechanical filters, the patented Biovitoren for cisterns can also be used. These are biological filters that require very little maintenance. Installation of the gutter protection grid Installing the gutter guard is very straightforward. Each package contains segments for approximately 3.00 meters, which simply slot together. Depending on the width of the gutter, the guard can be folded. It fits any standard gutter size.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVG8j1yDEMM
