Small-scale system for self-sufficiency: Turn rainwater into drinking water! Turn rainwater into drinking water without chemicals using the GreenLife UV 2000 drinking water treatment system If you want to be independent of tap water or simply don’t have a water connection but do have access to rainwater, then our UV 2000 drinking water treatment system is just right for you. Whether for a home, industrial or commercial facility, construction trailer, boathouse, etc.: With the GreenLife water treatment system, you can supply yourself with good drinking water—treated from rainwater! Let’s first consider rainwater: It is formed through evaporation in the atmosphere—an excellent and free initial treatment. As a result, rainwater has a high baseline quality as drinking and utility water. Among other things, it is free of lime and phosphate as well as hormone and medication residues. Treating the water is advisable, as it can reabsorb substances before being stored in the tank. Please check with your local authority (e.g., the public health department in Germany) to see if any additional local regulations apply to the operation of such a system. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@greenlife.de.How the drinking water treatment system works Rainwater treatment is chemical-free: After mechanical filtration, bacteria, germs, and viruses are rendered harmless through UV disinfection. The system is characterized by exceptionally high disinfection efficiency combined with a compact design and low energy consumption. First, the rainwater is directed to the tank (cistern). Whenever possible, only roof runoff water should be used, as—unlike with yard and driveway surfaces—relatively low levels of contamination are expected. If leaf fall is anticipated, please use gutter screens or similar devices to prevent leaves from entering the tank. For optimal pre-filtration in the (rainwater) tank, we recommend using our fully biological rainwater filter BIOVITOR.The pre-filtered rainwater is transported from the cistern to the UV 2000 drinking water treatment system via the GUP 46 submersible pressure pump. There, it first passes through two sediment filters (20 µm and 10 µm), then an activated carbon filter, and finally undergoes UV disinfection: The water to be treated flows through the housing and is directed along the quartz immersion tube in which the lamp is mounted. The thin water film thickness of only 7.5 mm (referring here to the distance between the UV light exit on the quartz tube surface and the inner wall of the housing) ensures optimal penetration of the medium by the UV light. The maximum treatment capacity of the drinking water treatment system is 2,000 liters per hour. Maintenance and Care Instructions for the UV 2000 Treatment System The special UV lamps should be replaced after 10,000 operating hours; otherwise, the disinfection rate will decrease. The UV lamp can be switched off when the system is not in use. The compact design allows for easy, tool-free lamp removal and replacement, e.g., at the end of the lamp’s service life. For cleaning purposes, the quartz immersion tube can also be removed or installed without tools. The filter cartridges for sediment filtration and the activated carbon filter should be replaced as needed, but at least every 4 months. You can order the set of replacement filters for up to one year of water treatment from our shop.In addition, for your own safety, quality samples of the filtered water should be taken and tested at regular intervals. Rain2Drink OSMOSIS - Safe Water Treatment at the Highest Level The Rain2Drink osmosis system from GreenLife reliably treats rainwater or raw water into high-quality, virtually mineral-free purified water—ideal for demanding applications in households, commercial settings, or self-sufficient water supply systems. The system is based on modern reverse osmosis technology and reliably removes dissolved substances, microorganisms, and unwanted contaminants from the water. Thanks to its multi-stage design and automatic control, the system operates efficiently, precisely, and reliably. How reverse osmosis works In reverse osmosis, water is forced under pressure through a semipermeable membrane. Even the finest dissolved substances, ions, and microorganisms are retained in the process. The result is high-purity water of outstanding quality with significantly reduced conductivity. Technology & Design The Rain2Drink osmosis system combines several coordinated components for effective water treatment: Pre-filtration (5 µm) – reliably removes suspended solids and particles High-pressure pump – generates the necessary pressure for membrane filtration Reverse osmosis membranes – central purification unit for removing dissolved substances Automatic flushing – prevents scale buildup and extends service life Intelligent control – monitors pressure, flow, and system status The system is designed for continuous operation and runs fully automatically with integrated safety mechanisms. Highly effective ozone and UV technology for your own drinking water supply With the Rain2Drink Ozone Drinking Water Treatment System from GreenLife, you can reliably treat collected rainwater into fresh, microbiologically safe drinking water—without any chemical additives. The pre-assembled complete system combines modern filtration, ozonation, activated carbon, and UV disinfection in a compact housing. Ideal for single-family homes, remote buildings, farms, or locations without a reliable drinking water connection. How Rain2Drink Ozone Works Water treatment takes place in four coordinated stages: 5 µm particle filtration A self-cleaning inlet filter reliably removes suspended solids. Ozone treatment in the contact tank An electrolytic ozone generator enriches the water with ozone. Ozone has a strong oxidizing effect, reduces microbial contamination, and ensures the water has a noticeably fresh taste. Granular activated carbon (GAC) The outlet filter converts residual ozone back into oxygen and improves taste and odor. UV disinfection (> 30 mJ/cm²) An instant-on UV unit reliably inactivates bacteria, germs, and viruses immediately before the water exits. The result: hygienically treated drinking water—fresh, clear, and free of chemical additives. UV Drinking Water Treatment System The GreenLife water treatment system, with its compact design and low energy consumption, impresses with its high disinfection performance; treatment is carried out without chemicals. After purification using two sediment filters and one activated carbon filter, any remaining bacteria, germs, or viruses are rendered harmless through UV disinfection. The UV lamp requires minimal maintenance; it should be replaced after 10,000 operating hours (as disinfection performance decreases). The system has a long service life. GUP 46 Clear Water Pressure Pump The high-quality, durable, and powerful GUP 46 submersible pressure pump delivers clear water to the desired locations in the house. As a multistage submersible pressure pump, it is primarily used in building services. A float switch acts as dry-run protection. All water-carrying parts of the pump are made of stainless steel. How the GreenLife Rainwater Treatment System with Underground Tank and Drinking Water Treatment Works Rainwater is directed from the available roof surfaces to the cistern (rainwater tank). Whenever possible, only roof runoff water should be used, as—unlike with courtyard and driveway surfaces—relatively low levels of contamination are expected. If leaves are expected, a gutter screen or similar leaf separator technology must be used. Once the rainwater reaches the cistern, the fully biological Biovitor rainwater filter ensures effective pre-filtration. As soon as a faucet is turned on at a connected outlet in the house, the vacuum water pump in the cistern starts up: The pre-filtered rainwater is transported by the pump to the drinking water treatment system. The rainwater to be treated first passes through two sediment filters (20 μm and 10 μm), then an activated carbon filter, and finally undergoes highly effective UV disinfection. The water is now safe to drink. For your own safety, water quality samples should be tested at regular intervals. The maximum treatment capacity of the drinking water treatment system is 2,000 liters per hour. For more information, see “Downloads” (above as a separate tab). Important Information and Technical Notes Underground tank system with Biovitor Install according to the installation instructions (see the "Downloads" tab). The underground tank is not drive-over in this configuration. Upon request, all underground tanks with a capacity of 2,200 liters or more can be retrofitted with our drive-over kit for passenger cars. When the tank is full, our infiltration cubes, infiltration blocks, or infiltration shafts offer good options for allowing overflowing rainwater to seep into the ground. Rainwater can also be directed in an environmentally friendly manner across the ground surface into an infiltration basin; this is the most eco-friendly option.Drinking Water Treatment UV 2000All components are pre-assembled on a mounting plate. The cartridges, including the filter cartridges of the three-stage filter, are pre-installed.
